Exhaust Sound: 2014 BMW 435i xDrive M Performance - BMW BLOG My personal opinion is the best combo is a catless downpipe (I don't really notice huge differences in sound depending on brand for the N55), mixed with the factory M Performance muffler, with factory resonator still in place. It sounds super tasteful, can get pretty loud, but not enough to piss off the neighbors and be obnoxious.
